MAY IS FOSTER CARE AWARENESS MONTH
 
Here's how you can make a difference:
 
1.  Become a Foster Parent - We are always looking for individuals to become a foster parent to a vulnerable child or youth.  A foster parent who can provide the caring and stability that is needed for a child who has experienced the trauma of being abused or neglected. Foster parents play an essential role in providing care for these vulnerable youth. Contact us at 626-967-5082 or email jennifer_y@ettielee.org.
 
2.  Spread the Word - Let your friends, neighbors, church or community organizations know that the need for foster parents is great.  There are thousands of children in Los Angeles County who are in need of foster care.  For more info contact us at 626-967-5082 or email jennifer_y@ettielee.org
 
3.  Support Our Kids - Make a tax deductible donation to Ettie Lee Youth & Family Services to help us provide the care for a vulnerable child or youth.  Click here, to make an online donation -- it's easy.
 
4.  Thank a Foster Parent - Foster parents can provide temporary or permanent, safe, nurturing homes for children who have been abused and neglected.  Help us recognize them by leaving a "THANK YOU" message on our Facebook page.  Click here to do so.

  Other Ways To Support Our Children and Youth
(these are items that our tight budget does not allow for)
 
  • Backpacks for kids of all ages
  • Duffel Bags
  • School supplies for kids of all ages
  • Diapers, blankets and wipes for infants
  • Socks, pajamas and books for youngsters
  • Toiletries for kids of ages
  • Incentives for youth who stay on their program.  Incentives can be gift cards in any amount to Starbucks, McDonalds, Target, Walmart,etc.
  • Annual gym membership for the youth in our homes.  Each gym membership is $412.50 per year
  • Sports Equipment is always needed -- basketballs, soccer balls and volleyballs, Ping Pong tables, weights, etc.
  • Tickets for movies, sporting events, plays and amusement parks
  • Art supplies -- canvases, sketchbooks, watercolors, colored pencils, etc.
  • Athletic shoes for kids of all ages
